EVENTS AT MS

VIBRATION - ANNUAL CONCERT

VIBRATION, our annual concert, is a celebration of music, teamwork, creativity, and the individual talent of every student. It provides each student with an opportunity to experience the excitement of performing on stage, whether as part of a group, ensemble, or band. The journey to the concert begins months in advance. From selecting the repertoire and finalising the concept and dress code to thoughtfully placing students in their respective bands and groups, every aspect of the production
is carefully planned. This is followed by weeks of intensive band jams and rehearsals, where students work not only on their music but also on stagecraft — including stage presence, choreography, entries, exits, transitions, and coordinated presentations.

Through this process, students learn much more than their musical parts. They learn to listen to one another, work as a team, take responsibility, overcome challenges, and perform with confidence. VIBRATION is ultimately a journey of preparation, collaboration, and self-expression, culminating in the shared experience of bringing music alive on stage.

OPEN MIC & RECITALS

Open Mic & Recitals provide students with a more intimate platform to step into the spotlight as individual performers. Selected students are given the opportunity to present their musical abilities on stage, with the initiative serving two important purposes: building confidence and nurturing the individuality of each young performer.

The Piano, Guitar, Drums, and Bass Recitals are performance opportunities rather than competitions. They allow students to share pieces they have prepared and to experience the satisfaction of presenting their work before an audience in a supportive and encouraging environment. The Open Mic, in contrast, is a judged vocal competition, evaluated by a panel of judges. Each participant begins by delivering a short, self-prepared introduction, encouraging them to bring their own personality, creativity, and individuality to the stage before presenting their chosen piece. Together, Open Mic & Recitals give students the confidence to perform independently, find their own voice, and develop the stage presence, musical expression, and communication skills that transform a musician into a performer.
